    Pole Trick Handspring

Just a reminder that this is an intermediate pole move so make sure you work on your pole fitness exercise and do warm ups to avoid pole injuries. If you are not there yet, we recommend working on those beautiful arms and wrist of yours.

Feel free to check out Angelina Polerina's pole fitness exercise that helps you develop your splits and strengthen your wrists too with the Floor Jade Strengthening with Wrist Warm Ups.

Step by Step Instructions (Twisted Grip Technique)Hand Spring Pole Trick

Step 1A: Stand next to the pole and grab the pole with your arm up high. Keep your shoulder down as you do this.

Step 1B: Take a step forward and then a step to the side. Your arm gripping the pole should now be behind your head.

Step 1C: Turn your head towards the pole and move your body till it is facing the pole. Do this while keeping your grip on the pole.

This is the twisted grip position. Once you are comfortable, position yourself at around a 90° angle from the pole.

If you are feeling any pain or pressure on your wrist or shoulder while at this position, do NOT attempt to do this trick. You may not be flexible enough for this trick and you may hurt yourself.

Step 2: With your free arm, place the hand down and grip the pole. When gripping the pole, grip with your index finger pointing to the floor.

In this position, push your shoulder back and away from your ear. The distance between your two hands should be wide enough so that your head can move in the space and not hit the pole.

Step 3: Take your front leg (the leg you will be opening up your body to) and swing it upwards to lift your body up.

As you are lifting your body up in this motion, also use your upper arm to pull and your bottom arm to push your body up.

Tip! Practice lifting your body up by doing small jumps off the floor first. Do this till you are comfortable and ready to lift your body all the way up.

Step 4A: Variation 1 - One tucked leg

As you swing your front leg to position your body up, tuck in the other leg as you go upside down.

As your body moves upward, remember to move your face too. Start from facing down transitioning to facing up.

Step 4B: Variation 2 - Two tucked legs

As you swing your front leg to position your your body up, tuck in both legs and bring them close to your body as you go upside down.

As your body moves upward, remember to move your face too. Start from facing down transitioning to facing up.

Step 5: Once your body is upside down, release your tucked leg(s) and straighten them out to form the handspring pole move.

Step by Step Instructions (True Grip Technique)

    Hand Spring Pole Trick

Step 1: Grab the pole about head high (not too high or too low in order to give your body space to do this move.)

    Step 2:
Take your front leg and swing it upwards to lift your body up.

Depending on what you're comfortable with, move your legs to your liking. During this motion, both legs may be straight, may be tucked in, or one leg tucked in and one straight as your body moves upward.

Step 3: As you are lifting your body up in this motion, bend your upper arm, and grab the pole tightly with your other hand to give your body a boost up.

Step 4: Once your body is upside down, straighten your legs to form the handspring pole move.
