  • Pole Tutorial: Tear

    March 19, 2020 2 min read

    pole trick tear tutorial

Today I will show you how to get into this pretty pole trick tutorial called the Tear! There are two versions so give them both a try!

Version A: Flexed foot and hooked ankle, hips away from pole

Version B: Pressed thigh and ankle against pole

    Let's get started!
x Kimmy, blogger from Pole Asana

PS. I'm wearing the Super Fly Honey Tigress Top and Lioness Bottom Pole Wear.

    Step 1

Start with the outside leg hang and keep the inside hand on the pole.

    Step 2

Your outside hand reaches over the head to grab the pole.

    Step 3

Adjust the grip on the bottom hand as you slide down the pole. Your ear should be by your hand now.

    Step 4

At the same time, straighten the top leg and hook the back of the ankle against the pole. It’s important to keep the top foot pointed here!

On a spinning pole, I found the direction of the spin made a difference such that I wasn't fighting AGAINST the spin to push my back towards the pole. For me, I spin CW for my right Janeiro, and CCW for my left Janeiro.

    Step 5

Bend the inside leg and thread it between the space. Choose your version!

    Step 6 (Version A)

Flex the foot and hook against the pole. Notice the hip is away from the pole.

Step 6 (Version B on other side)

Press the thigh and ankle against the pole. You now have 2 more contact points compared to Version A.

    Tip:

Try both variations, once on each side and see what works best for you!
