Have you been poling for a while and have finally decided it’s time - time to treat yourself to a professional pole photoshoot you’ve been dreaming of. Yasss! You’ve been training, learning a variety of shapes, trying out those challenging tricks, and now it’s time to show off all that hard work.

Whether you're a seasoned pole dancer or a curious beginner, this blog post is sure to have you twirling, laughing, and feeling like a superstar. So, grab your grip aids and let's dive into the wild world of pole dance shoots!

Tip 1: Photographer, Location, and Lighting

As excited as you are to book that shoot, do take the time to research first. There are a variety of photographers who have different styles in how they shoot. Just like how you took time to shop for your pole wear, take time to shop for a photographer. Check out the photographer’s work - the pictures, the facial expressions captured, the lighting done, etc. Make sure you have a kickass photographer who understands pole dance and knows how to capture your best angles. Communicate with them, share your vision, and don't be afraid to try out wild ideas.

Don't settle for a boring backdrop. Find a spot that screams "pole-tastic"! Whether it's a pole-equipped studio or a quirky outdoor location, choose a place that matches your vibe and makes heads turn. Last but not least, lighting. Lighting is like the secret sauce that adds that extra oomph to your photos. If you're shooting indoors, play around with different lighting setups to create those dramatic effects. And if you're lucky enough to shoot outdoors, chase that golden hour and let Mother Nature work her magic.

Tip 2: Get Creative With Your Outfit

Okay, let's be real. When it comes to pole dance shoots, the outfit is a major deal. You want something that screams "I'm fierce, and I can climb a pole without breaking a sweat!"

Yes we know, scrolling on Instagram and Pinterest can rack up those photo inspirations and make you wish you could wear everything to your photoshoot. But you shouldn’t! Bring 2-3 outfits that you feel great in. You don’t want to be spending too much time changing into outfits especially if your photoshoot has a specific time frame.

Get creative! Raid your closet, hit up thrift stores, or even put together some DIY masterpieces. Pick outfits that accentuate your curves and show off your moves. Think vibrant colors, eye-catching patterns, and outfits that make you feel like a superstar. Just make sure you feel confident and comfortable because trust me, your confidence will shine brighter than any sequin or glitter.

Tip 3: Strike a Pose or Two

When it comes to pole dance shoots, posing is an art form. It's your chance to capture your most epic moves on camera, so embrace your inner diva and unleash your imagination. Go for a mix of fierce static poses, mind-blowing transitions, dynamic shapes, and don't forget to smize (yes, Tyra Banks would be proud).

Do tricks you are great at and know you can do. This isn’t the time to try out something new. The photographer will be asking you to hold a pose longer to catch that best angle so make sure it’s a trick you know you won’t have a hard time holding for a bit longer than usual.

    Tip 4: Preparation is Important

You definitely want to make sure that you do your photoshoot prepared. Not just knowing what to wear and what to do but also knowing what to expect. Depending on the time allotted, the time of the day, and you - a shoot can go as smooth as paper or may have some hiccups along the way. Make sure to pack water, medicine, an emergency kit, and anything else you may think you need.

Here’s a list of what we think you’ll need to prepare:

    ☑ Outfits

    ☑ Poses list

    ☑ Makeup

    ☑ Water

    ☑ Snacks

    ☑ Medicine and/or grip aid

    ☑ Towel(s)

☑ Emergency kit: bobby pins, safety pins, booby/clothing tape, etc.

With your prep bag ready, another essential preparation is to have a good night’s rest and preparation before the actual shoot. Have a light meal beforehand to fuel you and stay hydrated throughout your shoot. Pole dancing is no joke, my friend, so take those well-deserved breaks. Also before you unleash your pole powers, don't forget to warm up and stretch.Stretch those muscles, warm up, and practice your favorite moves beforehand.

Tip 5: Let Loose and Express yourself

We know how nerve wrecking it can get. Of course it would, it’s a big deal to immortalize you in your best dancing self. But don’t let that get to you. Pole dancing is all about expression, empowerment, and embracing your unique beauty. Forget being all stiff and serious. It's your time to shine, so let loose and show off that personality.

So, even if you wobble, slip, or fall (it happens to the best of us), just laugh it off and keep going. So there you have it, folks. Get ready to slay your pole photoshoot with these funny and fab tips. It's time to show the world what you've got, one pole move at a time. Remember, you're fierce, you're fabulous, and you've got this. Now, strike a pose and let your pole dance journey soar to new heights! Let your inner pole goddess shine!
